With the scribing method the desired characters are written into a metal surface by way of a hard-alloy needle that has a defined tip geometry, the needle being pressed in (without cutting the metal) and moved under computer control.

The average scribing time amounts to 15 seconds for 19 character with a 7mm letter height. The noise level is less than 70dBA.

The scribing head can be easily flanged onto customary robots, or it can work, as illustraded, as a semi-automatic or fully automatic device with manipulors we ourselves designed. 

The advantage of this system clearly lies in its flexibility and small geometric dimensions.

For the first time it is possible to achieve permanent high-quality marking on hollow section, at extremely inaccessible places and beneath high obstructing edges. That means a distinct price advantage over conventional marking methods. 

Another advantage of the scribing machine is the ease with which fonts can be changed, since no dies or stamps have to be replaced. The scribing needle has a long service life and can be resharpened a number of times..

The desired compacting of the material provides security against falsification, which is of great importance in the case of certain products like, for example, the marking of chasis identification numbers (tested by the German Technical Inspectorate).
